Qualifications FB25 Qualifications to Homeschool

What are your qualifications to homeschool? “How are you qualified to school your children?” We hear this questions all the time! We have those skills and qualifications already. Realizing it is key.

1. Qualified to train

  • Did you train your children thus far? Then yes, you have that qualification.

Training our children in their academics is a natural skill that we truly already have within us. We just need to bring it forward and use it in our homeschool journey and we need to train them to follow a schedule to make the day go smoother. Training them to accomplish their academic goals within a designated and reasonable time frame is key.

2. Qualified to love

  • Do you love your child/ren with all your heart? Then yes, you have that qualification.

The skill of loving our children is also very natural. We love them way before they are even born. Because of that love we want what is the very best for our children. That is a skill that NO ONE but a parent can have for his or her own children. We will always be the ones who love our children the most and with ALL our heart, aside from our heavenly Father who has no greater love. Therefore we strive to find the best for them.

3. Qualified to engage

  • Do you feed your children regularly? Then yes, you have that qualification.

The skill of engaging our children is also a natural skill that we are given to raise our children. We have to engage them at mealtime to get them to eat when they are little. We have to engage them to pick up their toys. Engaging them in an interesting object to keep them from crying in a public place. We have the ability to engage and we can use that ability during our academic time in homeschooling.

4. Qualified to research

  • Do you grocery shop and clothes shop for your child? Then yes, you have that qualification.

Parents regularly use their skill to research as we search for things for our children. Whether we are shopping at a second hand store, at a new store, or online, that ability to research is necessary as we search and seek out the curriculum that will best fit our children and provide the quality education that we so want for them.

5. Qualified to manage

  • Do you cook, clean, do laundry in your home? The yes, you have that qualification.

The management skill is there in all of us. It is just a matter of bringing it to the front and utilizing that skill to manage our day in order to get it all done. This is probably the toughest skill to remember and utilize to the fullest, but it is really vital to the homeschool journey. It will allow you more time in your day. This is what we want so that we can find and follow our children’s interests.

Often times we are asked the question, “How are you qualified to school your children?” The answer is that the God gives us the abilities to qualify us with the skills needed to complete the mission. If that mission and calling is to homeschool our children then we are more than qualified. Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
